How can you say that the feeling of a person for others is true love?

How can you say that the feeling of a person for others is true love?

There are lots of meanings if we talked about love. They say love makes the world go round. Others say that if you care so much about the other person that you would not do to somebody else, that is love. But how can you really say that the feeling of a person for others is true love? Is there a barometer to measure love in terms of accuracy and really satisfy the answer to this argument?

As a point for discussion, maybe we can set examples of personal experiences. Love comes in many ways so we cannot cover specifics but just instances. I would say that the love of my parents for me is genuine and this is out of the question. No one can challenge me because this is based on personal experience. Same is true with the feeling I have for my family whom I love so much.

There are also other forms of love that a person feels for others. And true love can be evident by the way a person is affected it. A person who is truly in love shows a different aura her personal appearance. She seems to be glowing inside and joyful outside. How I wish I could find somebody who can be my sweetheart someday.

Why sometimes our blessings seem to be a disaster for us?

Why sometimes our blessings seem to be a disaster for us?

Most of us believe that blessings come from God who responds to our prayers. Blessing is what everyone hopes and wishes for. Most of the time, people don’t realized that their already blessed by what they already have, and wants more. But blessings can also be a disaster for us that’s why there is a saying “be careful what you wish for”. And catastrophe can happen if we don’t handle our blessings well.

There is a story about a very poor man who lives in a slum area. He prayed that God blessed him with fortune so he can help others like him. One day he won a lottery with a very huge amount. When people heard about the news, they came to him for “balato”. Remembering what he had promised, he gave money to anyone who came to him until one day he realized that he is already bankrupt.

The story above only shows that if you do not handle your blessings well, it could lead to disaster. But I don’t think God will allow disaster to happen to anyone who has been blessed. Looking at a different perspective, maybe the man was an instrument for others to be blessed. What happened to him gave opportunity for others who are in need. Maybe the money he gave away is an answered prayer for others.

Why do some people derive pleasure from the misfortunes of those who are exceedingly blessed than they are?

Why do some people derive pleasure from the misfortunes of those who are exceedingly blessed than they are?

Pleasure is what every human being always desires to have. At this state people feels contended, happy, delighted, satisfied, enjoying that very moment, or instance, occasion, for a certain period of time. This means that not for long, he or she will be yearning for more. We get pleasure from material acquisition, triumph, achievements, and others that we desire to have. And more so we consider this a satisfaction or for others, they call these blessings.

The above problem statement merely describe how people in nature have animistic feeling of what we call envy, jealousy, desire, lust, covetousness, and more than what you can think of. In a secular society, people tend to compete with each other in terms of success. Sometimes they try to acquire more than what they need in terms of material value just to show that “I have more than what you have”. If others have something they do not have, they have this feeling of material deprivation. And these feelings of deprivation sometimes lead to corruption.

People who derive pleasure from the misfortunes of others live in a world of survival of the fittest. They see failures of others as a way of alleviating themselves from their current state. Instead of striving hard to achieve their goal, they instead focus their attention on others adversity. They lack self realization that what they have is already a blessing. I believe satisfaction and contentment is what we need. Let’s look up to the success of others as an inspiration to motivate us more to be successful.
